To be eligible for consideration, companies were required to meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a registered investment adviser (RIA) or affiliated with (but not an employee of) an independent broker-dealer (IBD) or be a hybrid/dually-registered firm affiliated with an IBD and doing business through an RIA.
- Be in business for a minimum of one year.
- Have a minimum of 15 US employees.
The process includes 2 surveys to gather detailed data about each participating company. BCG conducts the surveys, analyzes the data and determines the winners and rankings.
The employer completes an online survey, detailing company policies, practices, benefits and demographics. Employees complete a survey of in-depth statements using a scale of 5 points ranging from “Agree Strongly” to “Disagree Strongly.” The survey also includes 7 demographic and 2 open-ended questions.
Employers from across the US voluntarily participated. No fee was charged to participate in the survey process or the rankings.
